1. Tell us a little about yourself, what you do and like doing?

I am Xuan Yeo, author of the Dream Walker series, and a female full-time comics artist in Singapore. I have been drawing and publishing comics for 13 years.

Currently, I am preparing to launch the 14th volume in the Dream Walker series and the 4th volume in the Mystical Gateway series. Thirteen volumes in my Dream Walker series and three volumes in my Mystical Gateway series have already been published. I have also published three Dream Walker artbooks.

One of my favourite pastimes is taking walks. I love to observe the surroundings, read books, or watch videos for inspiration. Occasionally, when I am free, I would also play video games and sketch.

2. What makes you want to draw and submit your comics for the anthology?

One of the most common feedback I receive from readers is the process of creating comics. Thus, I decided to introduce my comics-creating journey to everyone through simple comics presentation.

3. Share with us your art style, what has influenced you that makes you want to draw in the style you are advocating?

I was exposed to the style of Japanese manga since young and love their style. I started drawing comics using that style. After endless practise, I improved and eventually created a unique style of my own.

4. What do you think about when it comes to comics-making or publishing in Singapore?

It is a great opportunity to participate in comics-making. However, making it a full-time career is a daunting experience. Drawing is not the only skill necessary in creating comics. One needs to be able to come up with interesting ideas to create captivating stories. Besides technical skills, taking the comics-making journey requires great patience and perseverance. Otherwise, it is nearly impossible to stay on it.
